Field Trips

Fan that spark of curiosity into a passion for learning!

Students and teachers alike will get hands-on with science and ask, “I wonder why?” when they explore the engaging exhibits in ExplorationWorks!

Our staff scientists and educators weave the Montana and Next Generation Science Standards into our lessons and exhibits, making this field trip experience an extension of classroom learning. Come explore with us!

Please see below for our online field trip booking form. Please note that we require field trips to be booked a minimum of 14 days in advance. Our field trips require a minimum of 10 students.

  • What should we expect when we arrive for our field trip? When you arrive at ExplorationWorks, your group will be greeted by one of our educators who will go over the rules and expectations. If you booked a demonstration or laboratory experience, the educator will help you divide your group (if your group is larger than 15 students) and begin the demonstration or experiment with one group while the other group explores the museum. Groups will then switch, giving all students the chance to have the demonstration or laboratory experience and explore the museum.

Where can we put our coats and other personal items? ExplorationWorks has a coat rack for jackets etc. Please leave other items on the bus.

Where should our bus driver park? Bus parking is available on Front Street, or you can park at Centennial Park and cross under Lyndale using the tunnel.

Can we bring lunch? Unfortunately, ExplorationWorks does not have an area to accommodate groups for lunch. If there is good weather, please feel free to use the picnic tables and grass in the courtyard.
